Mob Entertainment, the developer behind the viral sensation Poppy Playtime, returns with Chapter 4, a survival horror title that continues the twisted tale of Playtime Co. This chapter plunges players deeper into the decaying factory, blending a gripping narrative with atmospheric sound design and grotesque art. The sound effects are a masterclass in tension, from the distant hum of machinery to the guttural growls of new monstrosities like The Doctor, while the art direction shifts from the cartoonish cheer of the factory's heyday to a grim, industrial hellscape. The story picks up right after Chapter 3, with protagonist exploring the mysterious Prison and Playhouse, uncovering a tragic backstory involving the autistic orphan Doey and the sinister prototype. The voice acting and environmental storytelling shine, though the pacing drags in the middle sections, making some puzzles feel like filler.

Special gameplay techniques include the innovative use of GrabPack 2.0, which now allows you to shock enemies or activate remote switches by sending a voltage through the tether. This adds a strategic layer in combat, as you can momentarily stun foes like the nightmare-inducing Baba Chops to buy time. The "Critter" puzzles, where you guide living toys through laser grids, are a highlight, requiring careful observation of patters rather than brute force. However, the boss fights can feel clunky, with hit detection issues on The Doctor's electric attacks. On the downside, the jump scares become predictable by the third act, and the inventory system remains cluttered, forcing you to backtrack often. Despite these flaws, the emotional weight of Doey's reveal near the end elevates the experience, making it a worthwhile journey for horror fans.

How to play?

🎮 Step 1: Start by exploring the Prison section. Use your GrabPack to pull levers and open gates, but watch for shadow figures in the peripheral vision - they signal an ambush.

🔋 Step 2: Activate the generators in each zone to restore power. These are marked on your map, but you must avoid electric floors by jumping over them using the spacebar during quick-time events.

🔦 Step 3: Collect the Green Hand upgrade early from the workshop. This lets you shock enemies like The Doctor by holding the left click on them for three seconds. Time it for when they lunge.

🧩 Step 4: Solve "Critter" puzzles by moving toy figurines across laser grids. Use the right click to grab them from a distance, then park them in safe spots. The grids reset after each misstep.

💨 Step 5: In the Playhouse area, use sprint sparingly (Shift key). Enemies like Huggy Wuggy react to sound, so walk during stealth sections and use vents to dodge patrols.

🎯 Step 6: Fight the boss, The Prototype, by reflecting his electric bursts back with your upgraded GrabPack. Time your shock when his chest opens - this causes a stun window for damage.

🏃 Step 7: Escape the factory in the final chase segment. Avoid pitfalls by sticking to the red-lit paths, and use the blue hand to vault over debris. The exit triggers after three checkpoints.
