From the moment the title screen flickers to life, the orchestral soundscape—complete with eerie whispers and creaking floorboards—sets a tone that is both haunting and inviting. The narrative follows a young heroine who inherits a cursed mask collection, only to discover that each mask binds a tormented spirit. How to play?

Step1 🕹️ Begin by launching the game and selecting 'New Game' from the main menu. You will start in the heroine's attic; interact with the glowing mask on the table to trigger the opening cutscene. Pay attention to the prologue's instructions about the control scheme—clicking and dragging is your primary tool for interaction.

Step2 🔍 Explore the initial room systematically. Click on every hotspot that sparkles or shows a gear icon. In the attic, you will find a journal and a broken lantern. Use the journal to read the backstory, and do not skip the tutorial bubble that explains how to combine objects by dragging items from your inventory onto the scene.

Step3 🧩 Enter your first hidden-object scene by clicking the locked chest. The scene will show a list of items at the bottom. Scan for larger outlines first (e.g., a horseshoe or a key), then fill in smaller objects. Use the magnifying glass icon to zoom if items are too tiny. After finding all items, you will receive a vial of ink—this is your first inventory item.

Step4 🗝️ Apply the ink to the blank page in your journal. This will reveal a map fragment. Follow the map's path to the study. Once there, you will encounter a mask display. Click on the green jade mask to trigger the 'mask swap' tutorial. Equip the mask by clicking its icon in the bottom-left corner, then use it to see hidden writing on the bookshelf.

Step5 ⚙️ Solve the bookshelf puzzle by rearranging the books according to the hidden symbols. This is a memory game: note the sequence of symbols shown, then click the corresponding spines. If you miss, the sequence resets, but the game gives you unlimited tries. After success, a secret compartment slides open, revealing a brass gear.

Step6 🔧 Now, return to the attic and place the gear into the damaged lantern. This will repair it. Light the lantern using the matchbox found in the study's desk drawer. Carry the lit lantern to the basement door—your next objective. As you descend, use the lantern to burn away cobwebs blocking your path by clicking on them while the lantern is active.

Step7 🎭 In the basement, you will face your first mini-boss puzzle: align three spirit orbs onto their respective pedestals. Each orb corresponds to a mask color (red, blue, gold). Swap masks to see which pedestal matches. Place them correctly to unlock a door. From here, the game will guide you with quest markers, but remember to save frequently via the menu to avoid losing progress in the tricky escape sequence that follows.
